As summer transitions into the school year, Argo Group employees are supporting their communities through back-to-school initiatives that directly impact student lives.
- New York: Supplying school kids, empowering employees. Working with the nonprofit organization CAMBA, Argo employees are supporting school supply drives and mentorship programs for students in need. “It brings a sense of pride and recognition,” says Sylvia Mocarski, Commercial Public Underwriter. “We feel empowered to volunteer with organizations close to our hearts.”
- Chicago: Sustainable giving with a meaningful impact. Argo works with Cradles to Crayons, an organization that provides school supplies to kids while repurposing and recycling items that cannot be immediately used. “My favorite thing about them is that nothing goes to waste,” says Maria Marasso, Underwriting Manager. “I always feel like my donations are going somewhere important.”
- San Antonio: Helping end food insecurity for students. “It’s not just feel-good words at Argo,” says Jennifer Mendez, Director, Digital Marketing Communications. “We’re actually able to make a difference in our communities.” This is exemplified by Argo’s support of Snack Pak 4 Kids, an organization in Jennifer’s hometown of San Antonio. The group ensures students facing food insecurity continue to receive essential meals – especially during the summer when schools are closed.
- Richmond: Feeling good about doing good in the community. Argo employees in Richmond work with the non-profit organization Communities in Schools. Efforts include sponsoring students and volunteering at food drives. “I love being able to tell people I get a paid day off for volunteering,” says Russell Steele, Senior Garage Underwriter. “It really does make your heart happy when you are doing good for others.”
- Bermuda: Feeding the community and deepening employee involvement. In Bermuda, Argo employees assist with a Christ Church Warwick program to support those experiencing food insecurity. “It builds a sense of purpose and deepens employee commitment,” says Kristal Todd, Casualty Underwriting Assistant. “Being involved shows that Argo cares about the community around them.”
